Titus' Assignment (Titus 1:5)
Consider what it means to work with people who are in the world and do not know God. Their defiled mind and conscience can make anything impure. They may be religious, but their lives show them to be reprobate. See Titus 1:15-16.
Consider the fact that we can speak of the things of Christ's gospel and Christ's kingdom today because of the faithfulness of men like Titus!
Ordaining / Appointing Elders in Crete (Titus 1:5)
Conclusion:
Paul's vision for doing missions well is based on the Word of God. Missions is not the spreading of culture, but the spreading of God's Word. It doesn't matter if it is Crete, or Africa, or America. All places have people who are liars and act as evil beasts. Someone needs to reach into the context of their culture and rescue them from it. We need to correctly apply the truth to that context / culture.
Introduction: James 4:14 "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a lithe while and then vanishes." Stand strong in Christ; don't be a "muckraker".
A. We are saved by Faith, but Faith is not blind. Hebrew 12;1-2": Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses. let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily ensnare us, and let us run with patience (endurance) the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus,.. "B. Conclusions. We are Blessed; we have God's Word; we have the blood of Jesus that saves us by faith, we have his Holy Spirit within us; God hears our prayers and answers them; we can have moment to moment fellowship with Him; we are part of the universal church. Thank you Lord! Psalm 119:98-100, 105; Romans 6:21; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; John 17:1.3,8,11,14,15,20,21,23; Romans 10:9-10, Romans 13:11-12; Romans 15:4-6">Our Great Cloud of Witnesses1. Many witnesses given to us by God:a. The record of the Bible(1) Those who lived before us as witnesses of their faith and of the goodness of God: Genesis, Job, Psalms, Ecclesiastes, Acts, Romans 16: so many!. Hebrews 11 records many of God's people who's faith gave them courage to stay the course: Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Sampson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, the prophets, and others who died for their faith.
b. Created Life: Do you receive Blessings each day seeing God speak through His creation.
(2) God's Word from Genesis through Revelation: Truths that strengthen our faith: Psalm 119, Proverbs 1, Psalm 73, Luke 16: 19-31, John 3, Matthew 6:14, John 15:4-11, Romans 6:21, Romans 8:28-39, John 17, Revelation 3:14-22, Revelation 20-22.(1) What does God say to you when he shows you Mayflies? (2500 different species)
(2) What does God teach you from watching birds?
(3) What does God teach you when enjoying or when being frustrated from your pets?
(4) What does God teach you using other insect types? (choose from approximately 1 million of those named by humans)
(5) Nature enriches our lives, point to the creator, and teaches us about ourselves: Genesis 1:24-25; Exodus 8; Job 39-40; Psalm 103:15-16; Psalm 104:14,21,27; Proverbs 6:6, 30:24-31; Matthew 6:26-30; Matthew 10: 29-31c. The Cosmos: Clearly teaches the power and glory of God: Psalm 19:1-3; Job 38-41d. People have touched our lives some for good; some for bad: These witnesses teach us how to live. Many people have touched our lives for good; some have strengthened us in Christ. Think of who has influenced your life by seemingly insignificant things that you still remember. Other people may have changed you for the better. Propose, each day to strengthen someone with a word of kindness, or a kind act, or sharing God's Truth with them, and you will be Blessed and will be a Blessing.e. God's Holy Spirit: Without God's Holy Spirit, we cannot know God. When we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit indwells us, gives understanding and gives guidance that unbelievers do not have. We need to listen to His voice. John 7: 38-39; John 14:16-18, 26; John 16:13; Romans 8:16, 26; 2 Corinthians 2:9-10; 1John 2:27

The themes that we considered in our Sunday Service covered:
We ask you to meditate on these Scriptures as you think about these themes:
Think about the value of the Written Word of God! When words are important to us, we engrave them in wood or stone. This makes them last longer. They can not be altered or rearranged. They cannot be deleted. Even so, God wants to engrave His Words into our hearts! He wants them to be a permanent, unchangeable influence and presence in our lives. This happens to be Mother's Day. Everyone is talking about mothers. Remembering and appreciating motherhood is important. Even so, every day we have the Scriptures, so that we can talk about God and His Son continually! It is a privilege to have the written Word of God.
The Written Word of God
Written language points us back to the one who wrote. Scripture points us to the author, God. We must notice that God said it and He is still saying it today.
God writes His Words on our hearts so that it will have a lasting effect. When God's does this, He creates thanksgiving in our hearts.
The preaching of God's Word should be doctrinal. We need the facts / the truths that will make us free.
Scripture unites us.
Scripture Is Our Food
Americans love food. Eating brings pleasure. So, we should hunger for God's Word. Scripture should bring pleasure.
Food needs to be well prepared or we will become sick. Some people do not prepare God's Word properly. Then people are led astray. People trust the television too much. They believe what they are told and do not search the Scriptures to see if those things are true.
Scripture Is Our Strength
We can Stand on it.
We can Fight with it.
We are protected by it.
We can Face Death because of it.
Scripture Is Our Work
It is our work to make others know the Lord. We present the Scriptures.
It is our work to live by the Scriptures. They regulate our life and we become examples of truth.
With our words and our lives, we hold God's ways before the World. God's ways are above the world's standard. The Gospel tells us that there is life after death. When we receive the Gospel, we are able to stand up and be strong (I Corinthians 15:1). As the Gospel facts are "according to the Scriptures" (I Corinthians 15:3-4), so everything we do in life should be according to the Scriptures. This should be the joy of our life. Consider Philippians 2:14-17.
">The Written Word of God & Life EternalServant, Apostle, Separated - Romans 1:1
The word "servant" actually means "slave." We just don't help Christ. We belong to Him. Understanding who you are is a matter of knowing to whom you belong.
An apostle is "one who is sent as a delegate". We are Christ's representatives or ambassadors.
To be "separated unto the Gospel of God" means that we are "set apart" for the purpose of doing the work of the Gospel.
What is the Gospel of God? - Romans 1:2-4
We…not me - Romans 1:5-6
As Paul describes his unique calling in the first verse, now he is telling us that we all have a calling. We believers have all received grace. We all have a mission and are sent to do the work of the Gospel. In Romans 1:6, many translations us the word "among." The ESV uses the word "included." That helps us understand that we all are called to be His separated people ("saints" - Romans 1:7). We all are sent to serve.
We have so great a salvation that has been given to both Jew and Gentile (Romans 1:16). This salvation should produce gratitude, love, and service. The work of the Gospel is both a privilege and a responsibility. We have the right to do it. We should run with it. Paul is saying to us, as a spiritual family, "You belong here. You work here!"
In another place, Paul said, "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified" (I Corinthians 2:2). He also said, "…Woe is unto me, if I preach not the Gospel!" (I Corinthians 9:16).
The Lord is near - Romans 1:7
ABIDE IN THE ____________ OF CHRIST (Jn. 15:4)
ABIDE IN THE ________________(________) OF CHRIST (Jn. 15:7)
ABIDE IN THE ____________________OF CHRIST (Jn. 15:9,10)
Two Primary Purposes
1. (Romans 8:28,29) _______________________________________
2. (James 1:2-4) __________________________________________
SUMMARY: What I hear God saying to me:
">Abiding in the True Vine
"But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night." (Psalm 1:2 - NKJV)
"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not whither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper" (Psalm 1:3)
"The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." (Psalm 1:4-6)

Note: The Father is at our right hand (Psalm 16:8). Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 1:20). We are seated with the Father and the Son, sitting between them. God's Spirit is within us. We are inseparable. See John 10:28-30; Ephesians 2:4-7; 1:13-14; Romans 8:31-39
Ephesians 2:7 - He is the door and He opened the door for me to enter into His presence (John 10:9).
Revelation 3:20 - I need to open the door for Him to enter (Song of Solomon 5:2).
">He is the Door - He Opened the Door for Me to EnterI. He is the Wind of God who can be seen in how He guides and empowers those who chose to follow Jesus. John 3:5-8, Ephesians 3:16-17a
II. He is the Living Water who refreshes and restores! John 4:10-14, John 7:37-39, Isaiah 44:3
III. He is the Fire that penetrates and separates and illuminates those who are waiting for Jesus. Luke 3:16, I Peter 1:6-7, I Cor. 2:13
My prayer is that God's children will better understand the role of the Holy Spirit as WIND, WATER, and FIRE.
The world needs to see evidence of His presence and influence on our lives as we wait for His return.
">THE PERSON AND THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRITEphesians 4:1 - A Vocation / calling: walk worthy of it. See Ephesians 4:2-3. A worthy walk is about character and attitude rather than skill.
Ephesians 4:7-8 - A Gifting: work willingly. See Ephesians 4:11-12. We may not all be called to become Pastors, evangelists, or missionaries, but everyone who receives Christ as their personal Lord and Savior is given at least one spriritual gift that they are to use to help others.
Ephesians 4:13 - A Goal: watchful and well. See Ephesians 4:14-16. The goal is maturity (i.e. conformity to the image of Christ). The Lord uses us to help each other grow up spiritually. We must watch for false teaching that causes harm. We must edify ("build up") each other, speaking the truth in love.
Paul Daniel's personal testimony and a report on the spiritual condition in India.
Paul Daniel's message from Scripture: Two "Walks" in Ephesians chapter 4.
Ephesians 4:1 tells us how to walk. Ephesians 4:17 tells us how not to walk. Do not walk as other Gentiles, in the vanity of their mind. In Deuteronomy 6:5 God told Israel to love Him with all their heart, soul and might. When Christ talked about this law He added the word "mind" to the list (Mark 12:28-30). By God's grace, the Old Testament saint could love God with heart, soul, and might, but to love God with the mind requires the "mind of Christ" (I Corinthians 2:16). The truth of Christ was hidden as a mystery in the Old Testament, but it is now revealed to us through the Gospel and by His Spirit (Colossians 1:25 - 2:4; I Corinthians 2:4-16).
