Northland Bible Church conducted a presentation by the children of their "Kids Klub." It was not possible to record that concert. Therefore there is no audio sermon to post this week. The following is a basic outline of a devotional message, delivered by Pastor Alex Lindsay. Devotional for Palm Sunday - March 25th, 2018

Matthew 21:12-16
12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'"

14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were indignant 16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have perfected praise'?"

The adults had made a mess of the worship of God in the temple. Jesus preferred what the children were doing: crying and saying "Hosanna" - "Save Now." And that's just what Jesus was going to do. He was about to go to Calvary and purchase our salvation.

John 14:1-2
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

After these teachings (John 14-16), Jesus spent time praying to His Father (John 17). The next thing Jesus did was to go to the cross and purchase our salvation, reserving a place in heaven for us (John 18-19; cp. I Peter 1:2-5, 18-19; 3:18). Jesus told us to take up our cross and follow Him, denying the world and denying self (Mathew 16:21-26). See Titus 2:11-14; Philippians 3:14-21; I John 2:15-17; 5:1-5.

Consider the words to this old great Hymn:

"Lead Me to Calvary"

1.

King of my life, I crown Thee now,
Thine shall the glory be;
Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow,
Lead me to Calvary

      Refrain:
Lest I forget Gethsemane,
Lest I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me,
Lead me to Calvary.

2.

Show me the tomb where Thou wast laid,
Tenderly mourned and wept;
Angels in robes of light arrayed
Guarded Thee whilst Thou slept.

3.

Let me like Mary, through the gloom,
Come with a gift to Thee;
Show to me now the empty tomb,
Lead me to Calvary.

4.

May I be willing, Lord, to bear
Daily my cross for Thee;
Even Thy cup of grief to share,
Thou hast borne all for me.
