We have been looking at the Book of Proverbs, especially chapter thirty, to search for elements of a Biblical worldview - values that constitute a Christian philosophy of life. Today's lesson will expand our search to other parts of the Bible. Also, we will look at a potential outline for you to form your personal worldview. Before we do, we ask the question:
When you develop a worldview, what do you do with it?
Developing a correct worldview will not profit you unless you make good choices and act upon them. Basically, The entire Book of Proverbs is dedicated to giving us a proper view of the world and of how we are to live in this life (Proverbs 1:1-7; 3:1-35 cp. John 13:17; Romans 12:1-2; James 1:18-27; 2:14-26 [James is not teaching about faith plus works for justification. Rather, he is talking about the right kind of faith - faith that works will justify. See Galatians 5:6]; II Peter 1:2-11).
Search these other Scriptures and see how they will help you form your worldview and then live in conformity to it.
Genesis 1:1 - 12:3; Exodus 20:1-17; Romans 3:10-28; 8:1-4; 10:1-4.
Psalm 1:1-6; 2:1-12; 9:1-20; 10:1-18; 37:1-40; 100:1-5 (and many more psalms).
Ecclesiastes 12:1,13-14 (The whole book is valuable for worldview).
Isaiah 40:6-31; 45:16-25; 53:1-12; 55:1-13.
Hosea 6:4-6.
Micah 6:6-8.
Matthew 5:3-16; 16:13-27.
John 1:1-17; 3:16-21; 10:1-30; 14:1 - 16:33; 17:1-26.
II Corinthians 5:14-21.
Ephesians 4:17 - 6:24.
I John 2:15-17 cp. Galatians 1:3-12; 2:20; 5:13-26; 6:7-10, 14. (Consider the whole Book of I John).
